Hydroxy Critric Acid (HCA) plus Niacin-Bound Chromium to
be an effective weight reduction therapy
A double blind study conducted by Anthony
A. Conte, M.D. found that 23 subjects taking a capsule containing
250 mg of HCA plus 100 mcg of chromium three times daily
lost an average of 11 lbs. Over two months compared to 4
lbs. For 17 subjects taking a placebo (control group). The
volunteers taking the HCA plus chromium lost
over 2 ½ times as much weight as those on
the placebo. The study included male and female subjects
21 to 55 years of age. Dietary instructions were given to
all subjects in an identical manner; emphasis was placed
on the values of low-fat, low sugar, low sodium, high fiber,
variety, moderation and balance. The study was published
in the The Bariatrician (June 1993), the official journal
of the American Society of Bariatric (Weight Loss) Physicians.
HCA is extracted from the all-natural fruit rind of Garcinia
Cambogia, an exotic species of the citrus family that grows
in Southern Asia. Its properties, according to available
published scientific investigations, are such that it acts
as a safe appetite suppressant and
cholesterol-lowering agent. The properties of chromium
have been known for many years. It is a key natural mineral
that “keeps insulin levels in check by making the
hormone more efficient at regulating
blood sugar levels” says the U.S. Department

way of taking only one capsule three times a day, (2) having
nothing to mix or stir, (3) being allowed the variety of
ordinary grocery foods, (4) not having to count calories,
(5) having an adequate amount of food, (6) eating the same
food as other members of the family and (7) above all, they
liked looking good and feeling good.
